April 2008
Dear Refectory eaters,
It is nearly festival time again!
For nine days annually each spring St Davids is host to a feast of music as
the St Davids Cathedral Festival welcomes some of the best names in classical
performance.
This year's festival will take place from Friday 23 May to Sunday 1 June,
and full details of the programme can now be seen on www.stdavidscathedral.org.uk
Where better to restore yourself before or after a concert than the Refectory?
We are open throughout the Festival for morning coffee, light lunches, afternoon
tea and evening suppers. We will also be offering drinks and tapas after the
main evening concerts.
The Refectory is pleased to contribute to the cultural offerings, so wander
to the cloisters between the early and later night concerts and you’ll find
live music performed informally. A perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine!
As ever, our lunch and supper menu will change
every day and there will be plenty of fresh fish and locally sourced meat
on offer as well as our renowned vegetarian specials.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Summer Suppers – nearly here again!
Our popular Summer Suppers start again at Festival time,
running from the end of May until the end of September. These are a great
way of feeding the whole family at a sensible price with home-made yummy food.
Call us on 01437 721760 or drop in to book a table.
And finally – the Refectory as a Pizza
Parlour!
We are rightfully proud of our fat little pizzas, but we confess that we’ve
never quite thought of ourselves as a pizza parlour. The Times, however, seems
to think otherwise and recently named us as one of the Top Ten places in the
country for pizza. You can read about their appreciation at www.refectoryatstdavids.co.uk
Best wishes,
Bill Sewell
